Tide’s out

August 22, 2011 by Jen

Evidence of high tide. Day 264/365.

Sunday, 14 August 2011, Day 264/365.

Near where The Surfer lives there’s a great walk you can do if the tide’s out. We’ve done that walk the last couple of weeks.

Monty still drags herself along and makes a fine effort despite the fact she must be so tired by the end of it.

You can see from the photo above that the tide does sometimes get up this high to leave seaweed on the fence. You’d be swimming, not walking, in that case.

It helps that it’s been fantastic weather, almost t-shirt weather even though it’s the tail end of winter.

Because the tide was out it was a little bit muddy in places and of course JJ slipped over, got quite muddy and quite drenched. He didn’t seem to mind and in the big scheme of things I didn’t mind either.

“JJ got muddy.” Why am I not surprised?

Hazel, I’d just been saying to The Surfer that I bet that one of the kids would fall over in the mud. And sure enough, five minutes later, JJ did it.
