This is a graph featured on the Adelaide Now website of the temperature over the last day (click to view larger image). Note that it didn’t get below 34.4 degrees celsius last night. That’s night-time folks. The night’s when we want to sleep.
I had the air conditioning going all night but it didn’t make much of a dent in the bedrooms as it’s situated in the lounge. Tonight, the foam mattress I reserve for guests might make its way into the lounge.
If I don’t sleep in the lounge the spray bottle will get another workout.
The #adelaideheatwave is being talked about on Twitter if you want to read others’ comments.
I’m keeping an eye on the ETSA website to see who’s out of power and I note that the power was out in suburb my sister lives in (the sister who’s had her air conditioning on non-stop since Monday evening).

Was down your way last weekend, perrrrrfect weather. And I thought it was us banana benders that complained in summer. Seriously though, 40+ is tough going. Here to a Coopers for you…

ROB – last weekend was great weather. Yes 40s plus is a bit much over a few days. My Pale Ale is cooling off in the fridge that’s for sure.

Oh poor you – nothing wrong with camping in the living room!

It’s ick and disgusting and they should make a law against this kind of heat! ๐

Wow, Adelaide too?
I’m wondering if this was the heatwave we had last week or if it’s another, passing though on it’s way to NSW.
Either way, you have my biggest sympathy and empathy.
Hope things cool down for you soon.
Jen says
Yes Tiff, Adelaide too. We’ll be around 40 degrees until at least Wed next week at this stage.

Hi ๐
It has been too hot for me !
Our poor pets are copping it badly too, but luckily most of them are staying inside with the aircon on !:)
I feel sorry for the elderly too .
Our power went off overnight last week ๐
Hopefully it will start cooling of a little bit soon ! ๐
