Wednesday, 10 August 2011, Day 260/365.
I know it’s winter and winter usually means more rain around here. And after the shortage of rain we’ve had I really don’t want to complain.
But why does it nearly always rain when it’s time to go outside and go somewhere? This somewhere is usually somewhere you have to be on time like dropping off or picking up a child from school, like going to work. Why?
I don’t like big golf umbrellas so my little umbrella keeps my hair and face dry and that’s about it.
I’ve got one of those light-weight foldup umbrellas which I permanently leave in my handbag so the convenience of that outweighs a bit of water on other parts of my body apart from my hair and my face.
Let’s face it, when it’s windy and the rain is coming in sideways a big umbrella’s not going to help anyway. And as a pedestrian those big umbrellas are just bloody annoying.
So I can drag out my little umbrella from my handbag while people around me whinge that they didn’t bring theirs and they’ll get wet. If it rains on my way somewhere next time my trusty little umbrella will keep me from having wet hair.
