It seems I have a thing for taking photos of trees bare of their leaves in winter. Excuse me re-using one photo I particuarly love.

Trees are a favourite of mine to photograph as well. They tend to symbolise life for me. In winter you get to see them naked, right down to their bare bones. Where you can see all their life’s stories. Beautiful.

Nowhere to hide ey?

Do you live in North Queensland? because that is something that could have come out of my mouth, ey?
Jen says
Nup, in South Australia.

Fantastic photos, particularly that first shot.

Thanks – I love that too. I love how the sky’s come out a purple colour. A good contrast to the yellowy branches.

I hate the cold, a good thing about winter is getting shots like these. They seem lifeless and bare, but theres a lot of amazing stuff going on inside to prepare for spring.
Jen says
They remind you that spring is on the way and you wonder when you’ll start to see the blossoms, and then when you do – yay…..

I can totally relate. I love bare trees. They have such an air about them, like they have stories to tell. Love that last photo.
