It’s like I never left

June 7, 2011 by Jen

Waiting to start work. Day 185/365.

Friday, 27 May 2011, Day 185/365.

I’ve been back at work a week now and it feels like I never left the workforce. I knew that would happen which is why I tried to embrace my time out of the workforce.

My work is fairly routine but the days haven’t been dragging and I’ve had good feedback about my performance so far. So pleased, they’ve already asked if I can stay longer – two-three months longer.

No, this isn’t a photo of my office but it’s the foyer of the building where I’m working. It’s great as there’s these lounges and tables and chairs all around the foyer. Sometimes it’s empty but people use it to eat their lunch – it’s a lovely spot and I’ll remember it’s there even when I’ve finished working there because it would be a good place to take your sandwich on a hot or wet day and sit in comfort and watch the working world go by.
