How to prevent yourself crying

September 4, 2006 by Jen at Semantically driven

I never knew this and I have yet to try it but apparently if you feel like you’re about to cry and you don’t want to, you tickle the roof of your mouth with your tongue and this stops you crying.

This is according to the film crew of Australian Idol who told contestent Clancy (who just found out she got into the top 12) and has a propensity for crying.

Clancy tried the trick as she got her good news about getting into the top 12 and she didn’t cry.

I cry all the time when I feel very emotional. I don’t want to be constantly crying at my wedding, though, so I’ll practice this trick until then. I just finished listening to a song that ALWAYS makes me cry, just to test it, and it worked! 😮 I hope it continues to work. Thank you! ^_^
