When I was in Melbourne I fell in love with these.
Or these type of shoes/heels. At around $400 per pair I was too scared to try them on because I knew that I would buy them. I regret it now because they don’t have a retail outlet in Adelaide. They’re John Fluevog shoes.
I don’t normally wear heels but these are supposed to be really comfortable. My friend tried them on and she found them really comfortable, and like me, she’s not a heels girl. We walked out of the shop saying how fantastic the shoes were and continued shopping.
The next shop we went into we were still talking about them and the shop keeper walked out from behind her counter wearing a pair and admitted to owning 17 pairs of these shoes. Wow, we thought, they must be good.
I still think about the shoes and plan on owning a pair one day. I could order online but I’d still like to try them on first.
But yesterday after taking JJ to see ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ I saw a pair of shoes that I ended up buying. They’re not quite in the same league as John Fluevog but will be a good practise run for me wearing heels. They were even on special and didn’t cost me that much.
When I was pregnant I was heavily into denial that it was happening because it was such a shock. The thing about denial is that it’s a state of mind and that’s it. When you’re pregnant you’re pregnant, unless something awful happens. Anyway I moved on from denial once I saw that baby wriggling around at my first ultrasound.
I’m also trying to deny Christmas. It feels like it only happened three weeks ago and it shouldn’t be time for it yet should it? It makes me sick how organised people are – some have even done all their Christmas shopping. Not I!
It doesn’t help that all the marketing emails I get or lots of websites I read are all banging on about Christmas and I’m sure it gets worse every year.
Just incase you want a Christmas present idea for a little person – 5-12 years – who likes building things, the Lego City Helicopter Transporter that we reviewed might be just the ticket.
Now, could you please give me some gift ideas for a hard to buy dad and/or sisters? Better still just go and do it for me will ya?
This came across my radar yesterday via a Facebook friend. This video shows how to make stairs fun to walk up. How would you make stairs more interesting to climb? The title of the video and the image gives a clue.
I thought I’d share this little story with you as a nod to good customer service which can be quite rare. I also wanted to share a great place to buy shoulderbags.
Late last year I bought myself a new handbag – one I planned to use all the time and use it all the time I have. Because I use the front zipper all the time too the fabric on the front was starting to wear off (see below). I could just see that it was going to get worse, not better so I emailed the company I bought it from – Mattt – a Melbourne based company to see if there was any chance of getting the fabric replaced.
I sent them a couple of photos showing the problem and after a couple of back and forth emails they asked me to send the bag back to them and they would replace the fabric.
It took me a while to choose a new fabric but I chose an upholstery fabric which I thought should be hard wearing and I chose colours that will pretty much match everything. They’d run out of the fabric that I originally chose.
Mattt were very quick with replacing the fabric and I’m rapt with it. As the zipper bit that you pull on to open the zipper (you can see I don’t know the proper term here) is quite short I’ve extended it with a dangly thingy (again, another very technical term) so I won’t run into the same problem. See for yourself. It’s not a very pretty option but I’ll keep an eye out for something else. Any ideas are very welcome.
I love the bag because I can separate all the bits and pieces I want to. My bus pass, building pass and keys go into the front pocket. There’s a little mobile phone pocket inside the bag so I don’t have to rifle through everything else to find it when it rings. There’s also another little pocket within the bag to keep my lip stuff and girlie stuff. My purse and other miscellaneous bits go in the main part so I know where everything is and can easily access it.
The upshot is that I’m a happy customer and hope to have this bag for years to come. And if you want one, I originally purchased mine online and it was a snap. Or if you’re in Melbourne they’re also sold at various markets. Just visit their website – Mattt – to find out the details.
The life of hectic that is me lately will hopefully be over in a week when we go away for a few days break. School holidays have started but I have to work for one of those weeks. I’ve got a pile of things I want to write about but really haven’t had the time.
Just a short note to say I’ve chosen the winner of the Ezibuy voucher. Head on over to find out who it is, winner details are at the bottom of the post.
