Now the weather’s warmer, time for a bit of a change

I decided I wanted to change my blog banner this weekend so I dug up a photo I took of my garden last spring when the irises had come out. It’s now a week later this year and I have only one iris out at the moment.

I fiddled with the colours in the photo and this was the result.

Here’s the old banner.

Let’s get a bit of perspective

Time for a bit of a change, and time for a bit of playing around in photoshop. The last couple of banners I’ve done, I’ve used photos with a bit of text over the top. This time I’ve just used text effects and some filters.

Here’s the old one for keepsake purposes.

I need to credit a couple of Photoshop tutorials I found on the web:

  1. Over the Edge: a Photoshop tutorial by Janee
  2. Perspective text by Josh Spivey

Time to get rid of Christmas and introduce summer

Christmas is definitely over. The tree has come down and the hotter weather has arrived. Anyone who reads this who lives in the northern hemisphere and is freezing, hopefully this will make you feel a bit jealous and a bit warmer with this picture of me on the beach last weekend. It was a bit too cold for me to go in the water as it was windy, but warm enough to hang around wearing bathers.

Here’s my old banner for posterity.

In time for Christmas

Thought I’d start a new category with template changes. I’m limited in what I can do as I don’t have the account that will allow me to carve up my CSS so have to make do with the limitations of my Plus account. One limitation that annoys me is the padding around a banner graphic which is why I keep the white background. Here is a copy of my last look anyhow. I didn’t do a screen grab before I published my changes so it’s the About page.
