Why didn’t I have one before

I’m the chief washer upperer in my household and there’s certain ways I like to do it. I like to use a brush, I like to have the water as hot as possible and I use rubber gloves because of the hot water. I don’t have a dishwasher.

My dish brush was looking a bit sad and then a friend came around one night for dinner and gave me a new one.

This might sound like a weird present but I’d been at her housewarming a couple of months prior and noticed her dishwashing brush. The reason I noticed it was because it had a suction cap at the end so it can be stuck nearby inbetween uses.

I love this idea because I always battled to find a spot for mine that was out the way and when I did find a spot for it, it inevitably fell back into the sink.

She got these from IKEA. No, she didn’t get me three. I got to keep one and my mates got one each also.

Cool. I found those “feeder” ones put too much dishwashing liquid in the mix – but that could have been the cheap style I had bought.

Those could come in very handy at my house.

I think I’ll stick to my dishwasher!!! Though lo and behold something happens to it, or the electricity dies, I’ll recall your blog :-)

M&B – I sometimes wish I had a dishwasher. At least it would be a place to put the dirty dishes before they get washed to make the place look a bit tidier.

And there I was, happily reading about your dishwashing, when everything disappeared. Not just your post, not just the program I was reading it in but my Internet connection as well — it all went away!
I’ve not seen these in Ikea in the UK but next time I’m there I’ll make a point of looking!
Anyone got any ideas as to how you make the male of the household put the brush anywhere that might be called a “proper place”? (or indeed, anything at all because he’s always going to use it again soon!)

Goodness, I love Ikea for everything! As soon as we move to our new place, we’ll be heading there for decorations. :)
