My nephews have been travelling between Sydney and Adelaide as unaccompanied minors for several years now. They really love it and the stewards/esses always make a huge fuss of them and take good care of them. And the kids always complain that the plane flight was too short, so.. ;) Then again I remember when I was a kid and flew with my parents from Australia to Greece which took about 27 hours, I remember I did not sleep during that time, I just looked out the window and I loved every second of it. When we arrived they had to literally drag me off the plane screaming and crying because I wanted to keep going wherever the plane went. So that might run in the family. If you call the hotel you'll be staying at, usually they will have some options for child care.
