Thanks Jen. It really is the personal recommendations that sends me for a look. I want to become a better photographer but am overwhelmed and never sure where to start. I’ll start now with these two sites.

These are nice photography sites indeed. Have you ever visited Epic Edits blog? Brian, the site's owner, is very passionate about photography, and posts lots of helpful posts there.
