Ooops

June 27, 2007 by Jen at Semantically driven

I thought I’d made 24 cupcakes for your classmates yesterday and I only apparently made 23. I either cannot count, or someone stole one without telling. I somehow think it’s the former.

I’m so sorry you had to miss out on a cake when all your classmates had one. You handled it really well and when I asked if everyone enjoyed the cakes and you said there weren’t enough for you, you were so matter of fact about it I thought you were joking.

I double checked with the teacher this morning and she said you’d missed out but didn’t seem too worried. Just as well I’d made another cake for the evening so you had some of that last night, and I packed some in your lunchbox this morning. You’ll probably even get some more.

Again, I’m really sorry I can’t count.

Hmmm – my money is on someone else nicking one – 24 is a double dozen – easy to work out, ices in rows… Good on him for being gracious, but I think the scent is not cold on this one!

Glad to hear he had a great day, and I love your below post – you brought tears to my eyes with the unconditional love bits.
